2020 Lincoln Aviator: Almost Fully-Loaded

  • Revived and redesigned 2020 Lincoln Aviator comes back to the market
  • Upgraded interior and enhanced exteriors modification made in current year variants
  • Advanced security, safety, and assistance features offered as standard in the new trim

Lincoln, a car manufacturer, has re-launched Aviator this year. The all-new mid-size SUV is a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and the manufacturer's first plug-in hybrid. The new features of this trim are giving competition to the company's pre-existing competitive luxury cars.

The official website of the automobile manufacturer also has a build and price tool, and the MSRP of this vehicle goes up to $90,000 when it is fully-equipped. Also, the base price of this trim is $52,195. The company is currently manufacturing five different trims, namely, Aviator, Reserve, Grand Touring, Black Label, and Grand Touring Black Label. We settled on the base model because it seemed to have most of the best equipment offered in its lineup.

2020 Lincoln Aviator: Almost Fully-Loaded

Our Favorite Trim

Our choice of the trim was the Aviator Reserve All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), which comes at approximately $59,795. It's a mid-range trim that ranks below the Black Label and comes with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine that produces 400 hp. The added AWD feature comes with an additional cost of $2,510.

Moreover, this car is available at a price that is just the beginning price for most of the top award-winning Audi Q7 six-cylinder engines and also round about the Volvo XC90 Inscription equipped with a range of features.

But the Grand Touring option still seems to be much more enticing with its superior plug-in hybrid engine and power. Unfortunately, we haven't yet checked out the gasoline-electric drivetrain, but given the price of the other trims, we can assume that it might cost around $70,000 or above even without the add-ons.

The Reserve AWD showcases desirable interiors such as Revel 14" speakers, surround-view camera, and power tailgate. But luxury utility vehicles will showcase features less than you'd expect, and therefore it's best to equip the car with a few critical optional packages to enhance its luxury.

Add-Ons

Two of the best optional packages are the Crystal Copper paint that costs $695 and the Reserve II package that costs $11,625. But choosing the Crystal Copper hue requires a bit more. This contrast matches perfectly with the Ebony, Ebony/Roast, Slate Gray, and Sandstone upholstery options available to its owners. Other than this, the secondary package is a bit expensive but offers a bundle of options such as LED adaptive headlights, 22" wheels, etc. that justify the costs.

Additionally, owners can opt for a third foldable row at no additional price to add to make a place for the seventh passenger. The overall vehicle cost narrows down to $70,615, which is adequate with its competitive trims. But we still have to learn about the driving experience of the vehicle once it is out in the market. Also, we need to wait and see the competitiveness of this new Edition in regards to price and features with its rivals.

Range of Options

Standard

Some editors might go ahead and pick the standard variant of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator that comes at an MSRP of $56,195. The base trim comes with a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that roars 400 hp. It also has a second-row bench and can tow up to 6,700 pounds. Also, buyers can transform the RWD into AWD at a marginal cost of $2,500, and owners can increase the towing capacity with a tow package that costs $500.

Vehicle owners might even love opting for the Diamond Blue exterior and Sandstone colored interiors at no additional cost. Drivers who love heated steering wheels and navigation can become the former with the Elements package that comes at $1000 and the latter at $500.

They can even forego the navigation system because this trim comes with Sync 3 infotainment that includes Apple CarPlay and Waze. A vehicle equipped with Waze might not require a navigation system because of its capabilities. These added features make it almost compatible with the on-road $80,000 Black Label trims.

2020 Lincoln Aviator: Almost Fully-Loaded

Grand Touring

The Grand Touring version of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator might not offer color options to its users, but it sure satisfied them with its features, even though it has a cost of $88, 895. Moreover, the available range of color options makes it look extravagantly elegant. This first variant also comes with a one-wheel option, but it does offer the handling package as standard.

One of the cleanest color variants for the interior is the Cashmere white, along with Chalet. Additionally, at its available price of $88, 895, it is quite roomy and doesn't need third-row seats

Reserve

The $60,380 Reserve trim might be one of the best vehicles built by the manufacturer after Mark VIII. The sheet metal of this car surrounding the cabin showcases luxury. The Reserve is the second trim that comes at an additional price of $5100. It offers features like a surround-view camera, 20" wheels, Revel's audio system 14-speaker, better leather than its predecessor, among others. One of its color combinations is the Magnetic Gray and Roast color interiors.

Moreover, the brown-colored seats might gel with both the interior and exterior shaded and might even prevent them from showing the mess. Adding an Elements package can be useful for families with kids as it costs only $1,180 and adds ventilation and heat up to its second-row occupants. The package also consists of a heated steering wheel, which is quite useful for the driver. Owners can even add to the second-row bench at no additional cost.

The vehicle also becomes close to perfect for driving in winters or slippery snow with an AWD installation for $2510. Most parents also add the additional $500 tow package to boost its towing capacity. So, at no more than $60,380, the Reserve becomes a luxury SUV and a quite useful everyday commuter.

In addition to individual modifications and their upgraded capabilities, the company provides a four-year or 50,000-mile limited warranty and a six-year or 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. Also, the Black Label variants come with a 4-year or 50,000-miles complimentary scheduled maintenance.

A distinct motor and battery pack of plug-in Grand Touring hybrids also come with an eight-year or 100,000-miles warranty. Furthermore, these Aviator trims come with forward-collision warnings, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance as standard features. Optionally, buyers can add automated parking assistance, lane-centering assistance, adaptive cruise control, and many other features.
